The Bloke and A Bird Show Episode 3

For those of you that aren’t into tech – this week’s show is for you! There’s not a single tech story in the lineup…. But could a local woman have discovered the start of the Zombie Apocalypse?

If you haven’t noticed yet – the McRib is back at McDonalds, but only until November 14th, so if you’re a fan you don’t want to stall…

Legoland Florida is open at the site of the old Cypress Gardens in Winter Haven FL. Is it a good deal? We don’t know yet – but it certainly seems expensive at first glance…

Got a neighbor who can’t keep their music to themselves…  A CB radio and a few cheap parts could take care of that. (Ok so there was a little tech) (no we don’t endorse blowing up you’re neighbor’s stereo or doing anything that will get you in trouble with the FCC!)

What’s the deal with penny auction sites? Is there a deal at penny auction sites?

Need a camera? Patricia’s got one on e-bay

A school lockdown drill followed by a drug search?

Patricia gets her geek on and talks about flat taxes, fair taxes, Adam Smith and economics…

In the Police Blotter this week we have the man who fell asleep in his car listening to accordion music, a local senior thought her husband was dead – but he’s either better now or a zombie, and a man gets attacked in a bar – unfortunately he doesn’t remember what bar he was attacked in…

Bloke and a Bird Show Episode 2

We’re back!  We used the time off to refine our settings and hopefully the show sounds much better now.

This week we talk about RIM and how it’s two-headed monster CEO (ok co-CEOs) continue to take their company into an ever deeper death spiral.

Netflix – and how CEO Reed Hastings is wearing his yoga pants outside of yoga – trust us, it makes sense if you listen…

Lytro – and how excited we are that they’ve announced pre-orders.  While it may sound overly dramatic – their tech truly could change photography.  You’ve got to check out their gallery because seeing it is the only way you’ll understand how cool this tech really is.

Tricia got the new iPhone – and if you have any questions about it or about Siri – leave a comment below.

Michael visited the National Museum of the United States Air Force last weekend. If you’re in the Dayton OH area you should take several hours and check it their extremely comprehensive collection of military aircraft. Michael’s pictures from the visit are up on Flickr.

This week’s Police Blotter feature local stories and a few from around the nation – all with some pretty solid lessons. Like don’t have an 8 year old lead you around the neighborhood on a leash, if you’re going to shoplift from WalMart leave the kids at home, and that a taco is not an acceptable form of identification in the state of Florida….

Bloke and A Bird Show Episode 1

The first ever episode of The Bloke and A Bird Show is now live!  It’s been a while since we’ve published a podcast and this show is really a warm-up for us.  Over the next few episodes we’ll work on evening out the levels and cleaning up the levels and polishing up the show as well as finding our groove.

This week we’re talking about the mess that has become Facebook and just how much it is aggravating us.  There was no way we couldn’t talk about the iPhone 4s announcement or the death of Steve Jobs.

We just discovered My Drunk Kitchen – you can find the episodes on You Tube or visit their website here.

We had some interesting stories from the Police Blotter this week – like the Canadian who though his car had been boobie trapped.

Finally we talk about some good customer service from the makers of the Scrubbing Bubbles – and some abysmal customer service from Clearwire.
