The Bloke and a Bird Show Episode 28

Happy Memorial Day! Although it seems a little odd to say that since Memorial Day is supposed to be a day of reflection…  It was a busy weekend for us running from event to event in Northeast Ohio…

What caught our attention this week-

An Olympic hopeful had a personal best voided because officials couldn’t count to 10.

Airlines are causing families to consider not sitting together when they fly.

The State of New York is considering trying to ban anonymous commenting on the internet…

An executive with SAP is arresting trying to steal Lego.

We’re not sure with is worse – sending your 11 year old off to shoplift for you – or refusing to come and get her at the police station when she gets caught.

This week we also review the Fujifilm X-10 camera. Was the picture quality enough to win us over – or did its other faults doom it?

Happy Mother’s Day! Although if you’re reading this it’s really Happy Mother’s Day a day late!  We spent Mother’s Day roaming around downtown Cleveland looking for photos in the Cleveland Photographic Society’s Photo Scavenger Hunt.

This week we got the disappointing news that one of our favorite shows Top Gear will not be back until their Christmas Special later this year…  Although we did get word from Rutledge Wood, host of the US version of Top Gear that US version of the show was renewed for a third season and that production on the new season started this past week!

Remember when we talked about the Amazon Kindle when it was released, and how it like the Nook really needed some parental controls?  Well, Amazon got the message…

So last week we talked about how they found 300 unused city vehicles in Miami that they were trying to figure out what to do with – what if you had 20,000 used vehicles to dispose of? Now what if they were Army MRAPs (Mine Resistant Ambush Protected Vehicles) with “tons” of armor and other countermeasures?
