The puppy saga continues this week with multiple apologies being sent to us from the rescue that treated us so poorly last week. This week we met with a new rescue that looks promising.
NPR’s Wait, Wait, Don’t Tell Me was in Cleveland this week for the first time in show history and we were there for the live taping.
Now that it’s been a week since the race, we’re willing to discuss F1′s Grand Prix of Europe in Valencia Spain. This year a race that is considered the dullest of the series was anything but.
Is it an insult or just a shrewd reading of their customers? We’re not sure exactly how to take Orbitz’s admission that it’s showing higher priced hotels to Mac users than it does to PC users.
A carjacking victim drives his carjacker off when the would be carjacker can’t drive a manual?
And it turns out that Mercedes is actually named for a real person!
The Breville Smart Grill makes it’s way out of the Bloke and a Bird Test Labs this week… While it has it’s uses, we didn’t fall in love with it…
We’re off next week for the July 4th weekend. More info when we get back!

Thanks for your earlier review of the bread machine. Based on your review, I got one for my mother for Mothers Day (okay, it perhaps was slightly tardy). She particularly likes the way that it lets her add raisins; her old machine was not too brilliant in that regard.
Just curious: How do you guys record the show?
Thanks again!

Hey guys, I’m having some browser issues, so this may be a duplicate comment; please moderate as appropriate.
I too have gotten to attend a Wait, Wait taping, a couple of years ago in Pasadena, CA. That show featured Tony Hawk, who made his entrance by riding onto the stage on his skateboard, which he later gave to Peter (that bit didn’t make the radio broadcast, I noticed). I remember being impressed by the amount of editing that was required to tighten it up for a one-hour radio show. Another public radio show that’s worth watching as it happens is Prairie Home Companion, which I’ve been able to attend two or three times over the years.
This comment actually belongs on the show where you reviewed the bread machine: Based largely on your review, I purchased one for my mother for a belated Mothers Day gift. She liked being able to add raisins, which was not terribly successful on her old machine. Thanks for the review!
