As Patricia prepares to bid farewell to her first F1 season as a fan, we also bid farewell to the BBC’s Jake Humphries,  and wonder if we’ll be saying goodbye next week to the team of Varsha, Hobbes, Matchett, and Buxton.

This week we’re recovering from a much needed weekend of doing nothing…

F1 returns to the US for the first time in 5 years – and what a race it was!  This was the first race on Circuit of the Americas, the first purpose-built F1 track in the US.  So how do the teams figure out how to run the race – Gary Anderson explains.  Ferrari further cemented their position as evil in Patricia’s mind this week.

In other news – even though Patricia’s turkey last year was her best ever, scientifically brining doesn’t make your turkey better

Lots of little things going on this week…  The Cleveland Photographic Society’s Photo Scavenger Hunt wrapped up this week, we did glass blowing with the Glass Bubble Project, oh and Patricia wants you all to know that she made Yorkshire Pudding this week…

Previously on F1 – we pickup where we left off last week just before the running of the Grand Prix in Abu Dhabi – and it was a heck of a race.  A lot of F1 fans may have a newfound respect for Kimi Raikkonen after this race.  Red Bull has good reason to re-think their strategy when it comes to their race setups, and Martin Whitmarsh was rather candid in an interview this past week.

In other news – Hurricane/Superstorm/Big Weather Event Sandy continues to trigger odd partnerships – like the New York National Guard and Victoria’s Secret…  And Amazon’s Wedding Registry’s have been hacked for good in the name of Sandy too…

iPhone assembler Foxconn maybe looking to do some manufacturing in the US (but not Apple products).  AT&T is loosening Facetime restrictions – but we’re still not happy.

Finally – Ryan Air’s CEO still hasn’t given up on the idea of standing room only onboard his flights – and we haven’t given up on the idea that he’s daft and plonkers…

The Bloke and a Bird Show Episode 44

Recorded this week between the Abu Dhabi F1 Qualifier and the actual race – so while we now know what happened in the race when we recorded we were still stunned by the results of the qualifier.

We didn’t talk about all F1 – we couldn’t avoid talking about Hurricane/Storm/SuperStorm Sandy and there were a few things to say about it.  There were also a few car stories we wanted to talk about this week
